Things have not exactly started off easy with being pet owners. We went to pick her up from the vet last Thursday, and the told us she had a cough and they wanted to do a heartworm test. You guessed it, she was positive for heartworms. Rob and I both felt like she's a good dog and it would be sad to walk away from her for something that CAN be treated--it just costs money. So, onward with treatment we go. She spent the weekend getting the first part of the treatment. We got to bring her home finally yesterday! The kids absolutely love her, and she already fits in our family.
She goes back to the vet in a month for the second treatment. Until then she's supposed to be kept as calm and quiet as possible. Yesterday with getting used to her new home, she was little excited, but today has been pretty calm. We *heart* her already. :)

she's so pretty!
aawwwww...she is beautiful!
She looks like such a good dog. Why did she end up at the humane society?!
I want a dog. How fun. Glad things are looking better for her. I always liked saving dogs as a kid we always went to the pound. Can't wait to meet her and see your new house. :)

Wow you scored on that pup, she's beautiful. We adopted our Boxer two years ago when she was given up by her original owners due to a liver problem. They wanted to put her down, but we thought she was wonderful, so we spent the money on medicine and tests, more meds and more tests, and we're so happy we did, she makes us laugh every day and I can't imagine life without her.
Cocoa is a lucky girl to have such a good family!
what a cute puppy!! Can't wait to see her tonight. I'll be there soon! Go read my first post, hehe...
