fight tough stains!

This past week when I went grocery shopping, I bought some oxy-clean. Alexis saw it on the counter and said to Robby, "Mom bought oxy-clean...it fights tough stains!" They thought it was the coolest thing.

And tonight after Lindsey had a blow-out diaper, I set her dirty clothes on my bed while I changed her. Alexis noticed the dirty clothes and told me, "Mom, you need to use the oxy-clean on those".

But on a side note, all the nice mustard-colored poop came out after soaking it in oxy clean! My new best friend! (I'm easily amused:D)

baby linds

She is changing so much, and it is going by so fast! She is already over a month old. Those complaints about having to go over my due date seem like a distant memory. Funny to think back on how upset I was having to wait and wait (and wait!).

So, some new pictures of my little ham! She's really filling out in those chubby cheeks! :)

awesome kids

I think my kids are great, but there are times when it seems like all they do is fight, or nitpick each other NON STOP. And I seriously start to wonder if it's something I have done (or haven't done) that has resulted in all the general crankiness.

But then there are days like yesterda. Alexis, Robby and I all had dentist appointments to have our teeth cleaned. It was their first time ever going and so they were a little nervous. While I was filling out all the paperwork, they took the two of them back to start their cleanings. I was glad that they could go together...and kind of ease each other's nerves.

The staff at the office were SO great, and I had nothing to worry about. By the time I got called back to start my cleaning, they were just about done with Robby. I was in the room next to them and could hear the conversation that went on. Lexi and Robby were taking turns asking what every button, gadget, tool and light in the office did, why it did it, and could THEY do it? And the hygienist was so great and let them "help".

Lexi and Robby were finished before I was, so they got to go to the treasure box since they had been so good (because bad children don't get anything out of the treasure box). I think they made out. Stickers, tattoos, a plastic snake for Robby and a ring for Lexi. All that on top of the new toothbrushes and toothpaste. I tell you, who needs Christmas?! Just make a trip to the Dentist. :D

Before we left, though, everyone kept telling me how nice and sweet Alexis and Robby are, and how I've done such a great job with them. It really was nice to hear it from someone else. As much as I think they are great, it's a nice feeling to know I'm not just biased. I do have some awesome kids.

Parade!

Last Saturday was our city's Christmas parade. I think we've gone pretty much every year that we've been here, so I guess it's kind of tradition. The kids mostly like it...although there are some parts that are a little boring.

It was fun to watch the "usuals" like the Shriners with their little race cars and hillbilly cars, or the local high school marching bands and the pageant girls and boys waving. But there were also some new additions this year. Jared Fogle, the subway guy was in our parade. How cool is that!?! I thought it was pretty cool. Apparently he's spreading the message to get healthy and not to wait until January 1st to make a resolution. Sounds good, doesn't it? (I say as I sit here eating another piece of divinity.)

And while there were some cute new additions to this year's parade, there were also some not so cute. Downright scary to tell you the truth. There was a group of 6 or 8 belly dancers, for example, walking in the parade and sort of belly dancing as they walked. And it would have been fine I guess, but not only were there a couple of really heavy girls, but they were wearing shirts with see through material to show off, I presume, their bellies. I guess I have to give them kudos for being confident enough to shake their bodies, but wow. I sure couldn't do it...

Santa, of course, ended the parade on his sleigh with reindeer. Then life goes on and the entire city of warner robins are all trying to get out of the parking lot at one time. Talk about chaos. We usually sit and wait for the crowds to die down, since we've never been in that big of a rush. As we sat waiting, I noticed how much trash people had left behind on the ground. It was really sad. Totally ruins the fun for me, especially thinking about how much time it must have taken to clean it up.

It's no Macy's Parade, but it still gets me in the mood for Christmas. And I looooooooooove me some Christmas! :)

duck tape

According to my kids, duct tape is absolutely positively made of DUCKS. No matter how much we tried to tell them it's ducttap, they weren't buying it. They even went on to say "first they pull the feathers off and then make them into duck tape".

Those poor ducks...
